Seventy Kilometers north of Quito, surrounded by meadows and the eucalyptus woods of the Cayambe valley, lies the beautiful horseback riding ranch of Shungu Huasi. The ranch lies at the foot of the majestic glacier-capped volcano, Mt. Cayambe (19,000ft / 5,790m). On its slopes is the beautiful Laguna San Marcos. Also nearby is the extinct volcano Fuya Fuya (13989ft, 4,264m), whose crater forms the three lagoons of Lake Mojanda. Amid this spectacular setting, all natural sanctuaries rich in exotic flora and wildlife, Shungu Huasi organizes ecological rides on horseback of up to 12 days long and may tailor them to our clients' requests.

Shungu Huasi is equipped with all horseback riding gear: trained and docile horses, saddles of the finest quality, local experienced guides and riding instructors, tents, sleeping bags, inflatable mattresses and all other necessities to ensure a comfortable camping experience.
